The RECICLA PARQUE concept is unique because it is a playspace built almost entirely from recycled materials in a ONE DAY community build event. Glass bottles, Plastic bottles, drainage pipes, tires, fishing nets and broken tiles are gathered together and given new life in the form of a safe, beautiful playgrounds for children.
In 2008 we built our first Recicla Parques at the elementary school in San Pancho, the kindergarten and elementary in Corral de Risco and the elementary and Jr. high in Punta de Mita. These initial constructions were great learning opportunities and challenged us to modify our techniques for park construction.
In 2013, under the leadership of architect and engineering students from the University Iberoamericana in Mexico City, we completely redesigned our construction plans to make Recicla Parques easier to construct, more recycled, more durable and safer. The first of the new generation of Recicla Parques was built in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in May 2014. Additional playgrounds are currently scheduled for Sayulita.

Entreamigos is actively working to improve and package the RECICLA PARQUE concept in the form of a video guide, instruction manual and motivational materials in order to be able to pass the gift of Recicla Parque to other communities. We are looking for funding to help us, help others, create a network of Recicla Parque’s in surrounding communities.
