Art! Art! Art!
Just about every child in San Pancho participated in the 2014 Childrens’ Art Festival this year.
This year’s Festival, titled, “Stories with Wings” was a celebration event of children’s creative expressionin the arts and literacy and one of the most beautiful presentations in the the six year history of the art festival. During the months leading up the exhibition, 250 children visited entreamigos to read from selected stories and then create artwork inspired by those stories. The childrens’ artwork was transformed into larger installation pieces by adult volunteer artists in the community.
The collection included participation from local and international artists including:
- Gabrielle Fontanillo – sculpture artist, Spain
- Marciano Corona- graphic artist and illustrator, Mexico
- Candice Fulton – artist mixed media, United States
- Kim Howard – childrens book illustrator, United States
- Jillian Mitchell – photopgher, United States
- Indira Santos – artist mixed media, Chile
A Magic Circus… Entreamigos publishes our very first and very own childrens’ book!
WE DID IT! With the spectacular talents of Kim Howard, her dedicated volunteer assistant Jeanine and the children of San Pancho… we have written and illustrated our very own bilingual childrens’ book. It’s well… WOW!
and another beautiful and enduring photo presentation…
DREAMS. A Scholarship students dream project.
Journey with our scholarship students as they dream about everyday life an into their futures. A fine art photography exhibition that will rival any gallery in the world.
Thank you photographer Jill Mitchell for capturing entreamigos and the dreams of our community with your camera.
Much of the exhibition is expected to travel to other institutions for display. Stories with Wings captured our imagination and gave flight to our soul!
