library and education center
In November, 2006 entreAmigos opened Biblioteca San Pancho, a library and small, but dynamic community meeting place. Open six days a week, the Bilblioteca is home to a computer center and a growing collection of books in Spanish and English for children and adults. Visits from the Kindergarten, Elementary and Jr. High classes during the day are in addition to programs such as homework assistance, reading circles and art workshops which are offered after school.
All programs at the Library are provided free of charge.

The computers are equipped with basic word processing and accounting software and are perfect for email and internet use. There is a printer available. All internet and computer use is self serve except Monday-Thursday 3-5pm. Computer use is free to students. Donations are appreciated for all other users.
TEACHER SUPPORT
The entreamigos store room houses a collection of art, craft and school supplies that have been donated. These materials are provided free of charge to all teachers in all of the schools in San Pancho.
Teachers may retrieve materials from the storeroom directly with the librarian Monday - Thursday 3pm-5pm.
CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES
The entreAmigos library has a continually rotating schedule of classes and after school workshops for children and adolescents. The library offers free school tutoring sessions, art classes, reading circles, English classes and other enrichment activities in the afternoon. The current schedule is posted outside the library.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE LIBRARY
All library services including classes, workshops, the computer center, field trips, tutoring, art and all books are provided FREE OF CHARGE to the community. entreAmigos has no dedicated organizational budget to cover these costs and we rely on individual donations each month to cover the basic rental and staff costs of the library. We NEED VOLUNTEER AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT to continue these services. To volunteer at the library you don’t need to speak Spanish you just need to come with an open mind and a willingness to help where needed. Please consider becoming a volunteer… you just might find it to be one of the most meaningful experiences that you have in San Pancho!
